Expect to connect with leaders from 22 charter school boards, who will each share their school's mission, vision, and expectations for service. Before the event, you will complete a survey that will pre-match you to boards seeking members with your background and skillset. During the event, you can provide your contact information to initiate post-event meetings with interested boards.
We are interested in highly qualified individuals with skills in fundraising and development, legal expertise, K-12 education, human resources, finance, community engagement, policy, and more. We are also deeply committed to fostering diversity within our boards to ensure they authentically reflect our student populations. Our goal is to enable schools to assemble boards that are inclusive and representative of various dimensions of identity, such as race, ethnicity, gender, language, and more. By cultivating diverse groups of board members, we aim to provide an enriching experience for every student, particularly those whose identities are often underrepresented in leadership roles.
This event provides a platform for our school boards to connect with potential candidates from various backgrounds and professions. It's an opportunity to identify individuals who are passionate about education and possess the skills and knowledge that can drive positive change within our educational institutions. These benefits allow our schools to diversify expertise, reflect community values, engage new voices, and enhance community engagement. Our overarching aim is to foster connections within the Indianapolis community, forging stronger bonds between potential board members and school leaders, and ultimately enhancing the expertise, engagement, and diversity of the mayor’s charter school boards.
